Wound Types We Treat & How We Manage Them

We take a holistic approach to every wound, recognizing that true healing involves both the body and the environment. Here’s a look at the most common wounds we treat — and how our dedicated professionals care for them:

Diabetic Ulcers

Often caused by reduced circulation or nerve damage, Diabetic Ulcers are one of the leading causes of lower limb amputation.

Our approach: We use pressure offloading, antimicrobial dressings, moisture control, and blood sugar management in partnership with your primary care physician to prevent serious complications.

Pressure Ulcers (Bedsores)

These wounds result from prolonged pressure, especially in bedridden or wheelchair-bound individuals.

Our approach: We focus on pressure redistribution, wound cleaning, repositioning schedules, and skin barrier protection to enhance outcomes.

Surgical Wounds

Post-operative wounds need close monitoring to ensure proper closure and avoid infection.

Our approach: We clean and dress surgical sites using advanced wound care technology, monitor for infection, and adapt the plan of care based on real-time healing progress.

Venous and Arterial Ulcers

These leg ulcers are caused by poor blood flow and are common in patients with cardiovascular conditions.

Our approach: We offer compression therapy, elevation guidance, and wound debridement when needed to support circulation and prevent further breakdown.

Post-Operative Wounds

Sometimes wounds reopen or heal slowly after a procedure.

Our approach: We manage these wounds with sterile technique, close tracking, and timely interventions to avoid setbacks.

Burns and Traumatic Injuries

Burns or traumatic wounds require careful attention to pain, tissue recovery, and infection control.

Our approach: We use gentle cleansing, protective dressings, and topical agents while coordinating with pain management specialists when necessary.

Infected or Chronic Wounds

Non-healing wounds pose a serious risk and often require specialized medical attention.

Our approach: We bring in healthcare providers trained in wound care management, apply targeted therapies, and reduce bioburden while encouraging tissue regrowth.

What to Expect from Our Wound Care Team

We make the process simple, so your focus stays on healing.

Step 1: Contact & Intake

We start with a phone consultation to understand your needs and assign a care provider in Phoenix. We also handle paperwork and insurance checks.

Step 2: Home Visit

A licensed nurse visits your home or living facility, performs a full wound assessment, and begins treatment that day.

Step 3: Ongoing Visits & Monitoring

Our wound care specialists return as needed to re-dress the wound, monitor your healing progress, and adjust the plan of care. We also share updates with your physician to ensure collaborative care.

Step 4: Continued Support

Our team checks in between visits and remains accessible. We care deeply about patient outcomes and support your full healing journey from start to finish.

FAQs

Is this kind of in-home wound care right for someone like me or my loved one?

It might be. If you or someone you're caring for has a wound that isn’t healing properly, or if getting out of the house is difficult due to health or mobility reasons, then in-home care could be the right fit. Many of our patients are dealing with wounds related to diabetes, pressure injuries, or post-surgical healing. We’re here to listen first and guide you through whether our care model makes sense in your situation.

Do you work with the person’s main doctor? Or is this care separate?

We stay in close contact with the person’s main doctor — or any specialist already involved. The goal isn’t to replace anyone but to fill in the gap when it comes to wound treatment. If needed, we coordinate directly with the primary care physician to make sure the care we provide aligns with the bigger picture.

What happens if the wound is infected or getting worse?

That’s one of the reasons mobile care matters. Some wounds change quickly, and being able to treat it in real time, in the patient’s space, can make all the difference. If there’s a sign of infection or slow progress, we adjust the care plan immediately. Sometimes we bring in the help of your doctor or specialist if that’s what’s needed.

What exactly do you do during a home visit?

Each visit is a bit different depending on the person’s needs. Usually, we clean and dress the wound, check for any signs of infection, measure progress, and talk through next steps. We keep track of everything and make small changes as needed. If you or the person you care for has questions, we take the time to answer. It's not rushed care.

How soon can someone start receiving care?

Once we hear from you, things usually move quickly. We’ll ask a few questions, verify what we need to, and as long as the care falls under what we offer, we can often schedule the first visit within a day or two. We try not to delay, especially if the wound is active or painful.

Why does wound care at home matter so much?

Because healing can’t always wait — and not everyone can make it to a clinic. Some wounds can lead to serious complications if ignored or treated the wrong way. Our job is to make sure that doesn’t happen. And sometimes, just being at home makes a person more at ease, which helps more than most people realize.

Is this covered by insurance or Medicare?

It Is! We are in the process to accept Medicare in the Phoenix area. Once it’s active, it’ll help cover care for many patients who qualify. Until then, we’ll walk you through what’s possible, including checking with your insurance or answering questions honestly about the cost. We never want anyone to feel unsure about the financial side.
